Oh, how we sacrifice
Saturday night we were at a "game night" party with a group of tri/running/wine friends. A great combination guaranteed to make you laugh harder than you've laughed in a really long time. We were talking about spinning sessions and how we occupied our time.
Thanks to some cable channel we can all watch some of the worst of the worst tv programming of the '70's and '80's. Anyone remember The A Team? I do, it was the show that came before "Remmington, the man I'm going to marry someday, Steele". The A Team occupied the first hour of my spin time Sunday.
Ok, fess up, what do you watch while spinning?
And I don't want to hear any smart ass answers like "I watch the ocean go by, and the birds flying" blah blah blah
I KNOW THERE IS A BIKING PARADISE OUT THERE AND I DON'T LIVE IN IT!!!!!
Ok, returning to calm, centered, self.
James Wood was a great Hades-especially with the controlled vent
Time to run and lift.

I do watch the ocean and the birds when I ride outside. DUCKING!
My patience with the old trainer rarely last more than an hour. For thse workouts I stick with some motivating Ipod tunes from Tomb Raider and Kill Bill. I'm completely amazed with people who ride trainers or spin for more than 60 mintes. Granted, my perspective would be different if weather forced me inside 5 months out of the year.
You're AWESOME.
Don't you love it when a plan comes together?
Really, whatever looks interesting on my TiVo. This morning it was MTV's True Life: I Want A Perfect Body 2. And then bits and pieces of VH1 and MTV videos (yes, there actually *were* videos on MTV this morning!) to finish up the hour.
"I pity the fool that doesn't get to ride outside in the winter!" More less, I pity myself. :(
Sunday is time for Football. Oh no!! Its ending!!
Other than that the news or Everybody loves Raymond,in that order.
Sorry, but I live in bike paradise and am usually riding outside...
I just bought an iPod Nano and loaded it with some good heart-pounding music. Has definitely helped with the stationary workouts lately! Have never tried watching TV while spinning as I set up my trainer either outside or somewhere where I can drip and spit freely!
I watch a clock on the wall, people swimming in the pool and my HR monitor. That's it. No TV at the gym for my long rides.
I catch up allt he movies i miss while i train last summer.
There is still a lot I haven't seen yet. Those will come in handy for those 4 hr trainer tourture..
i watch every football time i've ever rooted for lose like sobbing girls...
I TiVo All My Children and watch the episodes when I ride the trainer. I have a deal with myself, I can only watch soaps if I'm doing something constructive. So there you have it, I'm a soap freak. I can tell you the entire life story of everyone in Pine Valley. Okay, nuff said.....
ooohh....need to get on my trainer so can't comment on what I watch when I'm on it....but I will say I LOVE game nights! Plan is to get on my trainer first time this winter...this weekend....fingers crossed...
This morning I watched the Today show. BLah.
"Ah pity da Foo'!!" I listened to "Get you Geek on" Podcast #1 and it was quite entertaining and enjoyable...
Oh, I totally hear you on the "not living in bike paradise"! I've mostly given up on riding my trainer, though, and do spinning classes instead. Secret trick to making sure you do the workouts as planned: become a spinning instructor. You can't very well sneak out of it when a) someone is paying you to be there and b) 30 people are waiting for you to yell at them ;-)
I'm REALLY looking forward to spring, though! Let's wish for a really short winter.
